A healthier kids party alternative recipe for your next party.

With so many delicious options, it’s easy to over do it sometimes. So, why not add a healthier choice to your next kids birthday party?
These cute little smiley burgers are sure to be a big hit!
1 packet of Mc Caines smiley faces
500g beef mince meat (or your preferred meat)
1 egg
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp mixed herbs
tooth picks
Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Spread Smiles​ in a single layer on a non-stick baking sheet or shallow baking pan.
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
Beef patties: 
Add the beef mince to a bowl with mixed herbs, onion and garlic and the egg to a bowel and mix together.
Roll the beef patties into small balls and place them on a pan with medium heat. Cook both sides of the patty (time will depend on how big your patties are and also whether or not you like your patties well done.) We recommend approx 1-3minutes each side.
Mash the avocado in bowl and add a hint of lemon and cilantro (if you’re feeling adventurous). Spread the avocado onto one of the smiley faces and place the beef patty on top. Add a slice of tomato and some lettuce (you can add cheese if you like). Add the last smiley on top to form a burger. If you are going to serve these out on a plate for everyone to help them selves you may like to add a tooth pick through the middle of them to keep them in place and serve them as a canapé style food options.
Trust us, both parents and kids will love them and they are a great healthier alternative to mini cheeseburgers.
You could also make these as a vegetarian/vegan alternative. Try swapping the meat out for grilled mushrooms or egg plant!
